"Our children deserve a vision of a brighter future, a world where anything is possible! "

- Jared Franks (series creator)

'Lost In Tomorrow' tells the story of sibilings Orion and Luna, who suddenly find themselves in the year 2150, where they explore the amazing futuristic 'Lumos City', a village-city of human and 'Techlite' (A.I. robot) citizen scientists and artists, who live in a near-utopic paradise.

So begins an extraordinary journey through time, as the children embark on thrilling adventures and face terrifying dangers. With the help of new friends; Spark the border collie, Kaito the Techlite, Lumina the A.I. guardian, and wise old Elder Lin, the children set out on a blazing quest to find their way home to 2024, ultimately discovering that time is full of surpises!

Chapter 5

A word from the author;

I frequently ransacked libraries as a boy, always on the hunt for that rare gem of a book that would excite my imagination, something that was a bit different, a bit otherworldly. That is part of what I am creating now, a conceptual and visual experience that will inflame children's imaginations, and importantly, give them a glimpse of a brighter world beyond - perhaps a world they will even have a hand in creating!

Human ingenuity and dedication, a growing variety of new technologies, and especially ‘AI’ (artificial intelligence) are waves of change transforming our world right now. AI is already amazing, but it will soon ramp up to AGI (artificial 'general' intelligence,  and be smarter than humans). Further beyond this evolution, perhaps even a conscious ‘living’ digital-being, a brand new life-form.

I deeply feel that AI is the disruption, the intervention even, that our species has desperately needed,  and that we have been stagnant for far too long, stuck in old, unhelpful, sometimes destructive cycles. AI is now expanding our collective imagination of what is possible, helping us to develop new materials and tools to reshape our world.

I see a growing whisper of new optimism for the future, pushing back against the old dystopian fears and cynicism. A tech driven ‘abundance-for-all' entrepreneurialism movement is rising, with a lot of good people working hard, building new start-ups and developing new technologies to meet our biggest challenges, with the common goals of elevating humanity, preserving/restoring the biosphere, and making the world a better place for all.

I am assuredly an optimist, defiant and determined. Yes, we are going to face big challenges, and we will need to work together like never before, and it may get bumpy as rigid old ways collide with unstoppable new forces. But I feel that a ‘near-utopian’ future, is now almost inevitable. And, although it will not be a perfect world, it will be a lot smarter, kinder and brighter for all.

So let's nurture that vision!
